Medical Director: James A. Yates, M.D.

Dr. Yates has been actively engaged in private practice in central Pennsylvania for over 35 years. The primary focus of his practice is aesthetic surgery. As a board certified Harrisburg breast augmentation surgeon, Dr. Yates has been the first to bring many concepts relative to the field to the central Pennsylvania medical community. He was the first to bring liposuction to this area, as well as laser resurfacing to rejuvenate photoaged skin. Along with his wife Debra Yates, they were the first to integrate an esthetician into a plastic surgery practice to provide patients with on site skin care. With so many firsts to his credit, Dr. Yates brings an immense amount of experience to his patients.

Dr. Yates, a graduate of Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland, he served his internship at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio along with a general surgical residency. An additional general surgical residency was served at the University of Pittsburgh where he was appointed Chief Resident. A Plastic surgery residency was fulfilled at the Rhode Island Hospital, and Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island where Dr. Yates also served as Chief Resident.

Today, Dr. Yates is Chief of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania and Medical Director of Grandview Surgery and Laser Center of Camp Hill, Vista Surgery Center, The Skin Rejuvenation & Laser Center of Camp Hill and Plastic Surgery Center, Ltd.

A nationally renowned speaker and author, Dr. Yates has presented on various topics at AAAASF meetings on patient safety, accreditation of ambulatory surgical facilities, skin rejuvenation innovations and procedures. Dr. Yates is published in the Plastic Surgery News, OR Today Magazine, Outpatient Surgery Magazine, and the Aesthetic Surgery Journal on various topics ranging from liposuction, facelift surgery and facial rejuvenation. He also serves as an instructor for the Cutera Laser system for their webinar program.

In his spare time Dr. Yates is an avid cyclist.

Debra Yates

Debra Yates, a licensed esthetician with over 20 year experience in medical skin care and started the first skin care clinic in Central Pennsylvania within a doctor's practice. At the Skin Rejuvenation & Laser Center Debra advises patients on medical spa and skin care services such as pre and post-surgical skin care, acne treatments, chemical peels, microdermbrasion, permanent makeup and the latest in laser treatments.

Debra is a past-president and current editor for the Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists. She is a speaker with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons seminars on medical spas and skin care services.

Saunda Wolfersberger, R.N.

Saunda Wolfersberger, R.N., has been employed by Plastic Surgery Center, Ltd. and Dr. James A. Yates since 1981. She is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgical Nurses, inc. and the Society of Plastic Surgical Skin Care Specialists. With her 26 years experience caring for plastic surgery patients, she is responsible for the clinical aspect of the practice and the Vista Surgery Center. She performs laser treatments including: "Titan", "Laser Genesis", "IPL" (Quantum and Cutera), "N-Lite" vascular and wrinkle treatments and "Polaris" (radio-frequency). She is also qualified to give Injection Therapies, which include Botox® Cosmetic, Restylane and JUVÉDERM™ among others.
